Black Books Titbits Black Books is the first sitcom, writer and creator Dylan Moran wrote. Pulling in the talent of Graham Linehan to assist on writing duties he also appears in person, generally as a somewhat annoying but ultimately hilarious inconvenience for Bernard Black. Graham Linehan appears in the 2nd episode of the 1st series -called Manny's First Day- wearing a slogan t-shirt and eager to buy a book and in the later episode The Big Lock Out as a customer in the Mamba Burger bar (wearing DM's coat). Dylan Moran based his character Bernard Black on the inspirational Dublin bookstore owner whom "looks like he's swallowed a cup of sour milk and peed himself at the same time. He has this green bilious expression, years of displeasure have shaped his face". The filming of the first series was beset with minor obstacles. Bill Bailey who plays Manny Bianco, was under the weather with flu in the episode Cooking the Books, Dylan Moran who plays central character and owner of the bookstore Bernard Black, had injured his neck during Manny's First Day. Whilst Tamsin Grieg's pregnancy throughout the duration of the first series kept her in typical Fran Katzenjammer attire, keeping her bump under wraps with long pastel shirts. Leaving all there to be said that the character of Manny was originally Jewish and the sign on the shops door says 'closed' on both sides. docile fanatic linksen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Bookswww.bbc.co.uk/comedy/guide/articles/b/blackbooks_66600660.shtml

that's ok, if you like i can make a tamsin grieg thread so you can really go crazy? i've got to be in a certain mood to watch green wing i have the first series but it just annoys me. i feel freak-like for not getting on with it too well. oh well. i wouldn't say it's a bad programme. oh and i hate that wedding dress what's with the purple fur trim?

It isn't the best wedding dress but I reckon Sue White would have done that to make Caroline look daft. I just needed an excuse to post the bike pic. Awwwwwwh.
But yes Green Wing is very daft and possible fails to counterpoint the absurdity with reality (or something)
